We use cedar, spruce, fir, pine and more. Softwoods are ideal for decking, flooring, panelling and structural framing. Softwoods also absorb paint, oil and varnish better.
We use aluminum and other soft metals for custom signage and finishes to our custom build outs. They can add a modern touch to any piece.
Corian is a solid surface material that’s ideal for countertops. The advantages to using to Corian for countertops is that they’re almost seamless. Unlike granite or other materials, they fuse together nicely, creating the look of one solid surface. It is also sunlight resistant so it will not fade.
Popular Hardwood Styles
Depending on the placement and budget, we can use a wide range of hardwoods for your project. Though some hardwoods are better suited for humid climates, others do just fine indoors. Some hardwoods are prized for the grain, others you can stain or paint right over. Below is a list of hardwoods we’ve worked with before.
- Oak: Very commonly used in just about any application. Used for cabinets, furniture, flooring and more. Very versatile.
- Cherry: One of the premier hardwoods in the U.S., reddish in color. Can stain it in a darker color to get it a more “aged feel.”
- Maple: Looking for a lighter colored wood? Look no further than Maple. Easy to find, Maple is often left in its natural tone. Ideal for light and airy spaces.
- Walnut: Deep natural brown that is absolutely stunning. This is the type of wood that you do not stain. Can be used in a number of styles and applications.
- Ash: A value wood with similarities in style to oak.
- Birch: Often used as plywood.
- Poplar: Inexpensive style of wood that has similarities in style to Cherry when stained.
- Ipe: A Brazilian hardwood ideal for decks and bars because of its ability to ward off termites.
